Burnley is the professional English football club from the city Burnley, Lancashire. The club is one of the founders of the Football League in 1888. The traditional colors of the team are claret and blue. The home stadium has been Turf Moore since 1883.
Burney was the champion of the First Division twice in the season of 1920-1921 and 1959-1960 and the team also won the Cup of England in 1914; they won Liverpool with the score 1-0. The club got into the quarter of the Champions Cup in 1961. At that time they lost to Hamburg.


In 1976 the club left the highest division and starting from 1985 and seven years more the team took part in the lowest division of the Football League. In 1987 the club was about to leave the Football conference.  From 2000 to 2008 the club participated in the Second division of the English football (now it’s the Championship of the Football League. In 2009 the club took the fifth place on the Championship; it won the final in the play-off matches and entered the English Premier League.
